I have a professionally installed Blaupunkt radio and trunk mounted disk
changer. I have also melted 2 ignitions. The Blaupunkt draws less than
eight amps (regulated thru an inline 8 amp fuse) and the whole circut is
limited to 10 amps (10 amp radio fuse in fuse box). The set up was
installed using a full wire harness so there was no snipping or cutting.
I need to know what is up because VW thinks it’s the radio, but they
can’t explain why. Is the ignition switch poorly designed or created?
I am going in for my 3rd ignition on Tuesday and anticipate resistance
for the dealer. One solution, to use a relay may solve the prob, if it
is the radio, however, I need sometype of logical explanation so I can
pursue either VW, or the installer for damages.

I have a 1993 VW Passat VR6 with a AutoTech chip and Remus exhaust. Since
the weather has gotten warmer, I have a hot start problem.
After running around town and the motor gets warmed, I shut off the
engine. When go to restart the car, the starter runs and it doesn’t turn
over. I must wait a half-hour for the car to cool down and then it starts
like nothing ever happened. The fuse is fine…I think it might be the
fuel relay….Does anyone have an idea?
I keep getting stranded……H-E-L-P

I have a 1.8L 8V 87 GTI engine, right now the only mod
is a Techtonics euro downpipe (no cat.) and 2" exhaust
w/ resonator (also Techtonics). I want to add a cam, too.
Any HP estimates before and after the cam?
Any suggestions on which cam to use?
I want a decent idle, looking for a high top speed.

"DOES YOUR BABY NEED A DIAPER?"
Stop worrying about leaving embarrasing oil leak spots everywhere you go!!!
STOP THE MESS!!!
The Auto Diaper is constructed of Hi-Tech 3-M Super oil-absorbent material
(used by crews to clean up after Oil Tanker spills)that will not absorb
water. The Auto Diaper will last at least one year on most vehicles.
Easy to install, it fits under your engine or transmission and catches the
oil drips before they even has a chance to hit the ground.
Why spend hundreds to replace those hard to reach gaskets when you can use
the Auto Diaper for under twenty dollars you can put an end to those nasty,
messy and unsightly oil stains on the payment.

Told my dealer that the speedo reading was off by three or four mph.
After checking everything he said that everything was ok and VW has a
+ or – two to six mph spec. My car is still racking up miles faster
than it should and I really don’t know how fast I’m going, but that’s
ok because it’s within specs.

I have a ’78 Rabbit that was parked and not started 5 years ago in my
garage. It ran well at that time. I have now drained the tank and added
Fuel injection cleaner and new gas. It starts right away, runs for 1-2
seconds, then dies. If I touch the gas pedal at all, it’ll die sooner, or
won’t start at all. It will always start right up if I wait a minute or
so, then die. If I have given it gas, I’ll have to wait several minutes
before cranking it over, or it will not start.
Please reply with suggestions. Thanks.
