My 92 jetta clutch squeaks whenever i engage/disengage into gear. What
should I do to resolved the squeaking. It kinda sounds like it just needs
WD-40 or something more specific. And where should it be applied exactly.

Jetta Clutch squeaks when pushed in and out
91 Jetta – Fresh Air Blower resistor assembly
Subj: 1991 Jetta (Mexico) 1.8L gas RV-engine config.
One of the speed positions for the air conditioner/heater blower motor
doesn’t work. I’m guessing maybe the resistor divider network is bad or
loose, but where is it located on the firewall? I know where the rotary
speed control is, and where the Fresh Air Blower motor is, but not the
resistor assembly. I really don’t want to tear the whole console apart
searching for it!
Thanks!
Passat and kayak tiedown
Just go my 04 Passat TDI wagon. I can’t seem to find a place to tie my
kayaks in the front. Has anyone come up with something?
MK II GTI : Neuspeed Sofports with Bilstein HD's or Sports???
How come no one knows the exact answer to this question? It’s driving me
crazy trying to decide between the two.
I’m set on Neuspeed Sofsport’s (0.5" drop), but don’t know whether I should
get Bilstein HD’s or Sports. HD’s are not meant to be used with lowering
springs, but 0.5" is smaller than the 22mm that the Bilstein Sports are
shorter than the HD’s.
This is what I’m seeing :
1) Using HD’s will go against what Bilstein recommends for the shocks (ie
"don’t use with lowering springs").
2) Using Sports, I’m running the springs slightly loaded due to the shorter
strut shaft.
ANY advice here to ease my pains in choosing which shocks to buy would be
greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

1996 Golf ABS warning light
Started up my car yesterday and the ABS warning light didnt go out. Checked
the handbook and everything they said seemed to be OK. Brakes still feel the
same , there is no increase in pedal travel and the fluid level is OK. Any
ideas or have i got to go and spend loads at the main dealer??
1989 Golf – vacuum leak in a check valve?
Hi
I’ve been reading through some of the previous posts which have
enabled me to trace a problem with the brake servo and rough running
on my ’89 Golf. Thanks !
The clutch cable has worn through a blanking cap on a unused spare
feed on what looks like a check valve in the vacuum line to the brake
servo.
Plugging the hole under the blanking cap cures the problem.
Does anyone know what this ‘check valve’ is, what it does and a part
number ? Or pointers to a relevent website.
Thanks
John
82 Diesel Vanagon Clutch Problems
The clutch in my diesel Westy has been giving me trouble. It works
fine for the first 5 or 6 shifts but then slowly starts engaging lower
and lower to the floor until not at all. If I let it sit for awhile
and drive it again it is the same process all over again.
Suggestions?
Vacuum lines: 2L 16V
Silly me… I took large portions of the front end of my car apart and
didn’t take any notes. I have a 90 GLI (2L 16V CIS-E Motronic), there
are two vacuum lines coming out of the bottom of the boot in front of the
throttle body. One appears to be routed back to the air box. The other
appears to be about 22" (just a guess) long and seems to be routed past
the exhaust manifold toward the distributor or ignition coil, but I
haven’t a clue where it goes. Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks,
dan

Jetta front suspension noise
I have a 2002 Jetta TDI. Last spring, when the weather warmed up enough
to open the windows, I heard a sharp squeak or chirp from the right
front wheel over certain road surfaces. It happened when the car hit an
abrupt edge, even a small one like the edge of a pavement patch or a
shallow pothole. The noise did NOT happen when going over bumps that
were more gradual at their edges. It was hard to tell but it seemed
that the biggest noise was when the wheel went over the edge of a bump
and the suspension extended abruptly.
I asked the shop to fix it under warranty, and the noise went away. But
this year, the same thing happened. Open the windows, hear the noise.
It could have been happening all winter, but closing the window is
enough that you can’t hear it inside.
This year both left and right are involved.
Whatever they did last year wasn’t a permanent fix.
I’m looking for any thoughts or suggestions. It’s still under warranty,
so the most valuable thing would be for me to know what to tell the
dealer to do with it.
