I just bougt a VW FOX 1990. The hose after the fuel pump is leaking.
This looks like a Pressuer Fuel hose. I went to all AutoParts sotres
and they said it is hard to find. Could you please help me to find out
where to buy this hose..
Regards,
Hi,
My 97 Jetta has been problem free up until now. I took my car in a few weeks
ago to get my timing belt replaced (just turned over 100,000K) as a
preventive measure. As well as a tune up and fuel pump replacement.
Yesterday on the way to work I’m finding that when my engine idles the
engine shakes and seems as if it’s going to stall. It runs fine if the RPM’s
are high but if running low I can feel it chugging as if it’s not getting
gas…any idea’s?
I’m taking it back to the mechanic tomorrow.

I’ve had a problem with my 88 vw fox 4spd practically since I bought it last
year. The linkage seems out of alignment even though I’ve replaced the
bushings, and re-seated the thing.
Problem looks like this.
Transmission should be like this
R 1 3
|__|__|
| |
2 4
Mine is like this:
1 1 3
|__|__|
| |
2 4
Anyone have any ideas? I was told this was common with the foxes, and
although I’m decently mechanically inclined, but this one’s been out of my
reach so far… So if anyone knows a good VW Mechanic in indianapolis, it
would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

Does anyone know where I could find a 1984-1985 Golf intake manifold for a
1800cc engine with hydraulic lifters for a single carburetor? Will pay
reasonable costs.
Just to make a correction and give more info
the jetta is a year 2000 model.
thanks.
I am looking for the vents that replace the foglights and reflector on
MK3 Golfs to no avail. Could anyone give me a name of a company and
perhaps a website that sells these?
thanks

Hi All,
I am looking to buy a 1998 Polo 1.4 CL. The car has done 87K miles and has a
full service history up to 73K miles so a service is long overdue.
The car bodywork is very good and there is no blue smoke from the exhaust
but I am concerned that I can hear a tappety noise once it is started and
the noise does not disappear even when the engine is warmed up. The trader
tells me that the hydraulic tappets always do this after the car has been
stood for a week or two but will disappear with use. However, I am sceptical
and wonder if an oil change will do the trick.
I have never owned a VW before and would value comments on this.
Thanks,
Lap
Hi, I have a 1996 Golf cl (1.8) that has just done 60,000km (38,000
miles?).
Anyway I’m going to change the oil / oil filter, radiator coolant &
spark plugs.
It was last serviced (professionally 10,000miles ago).
Can someone please tell me:
1) what spark plugs to use. (the Plug leads look fine)
2) when (what frequency) does the timing belt need to be replaced? (I
wouldn’t do this myself)
3) Does the radiator have a drain plug? Can’t seem to find anything
to empty the radiator so I can replace the coolant. Or do I have to
pull out 1 of the hoses?
4) How often is the fuel filter replaced & where is it located?
As you can guess I don’t have a workshop manual (haynes or similar).
The driving manual tells me what coolant, oil & filter to use.
thanks
Bryan
Does anyone know where the 2003 Jetta Wagon is assembled? I’ve read it was
assembled in Germany not Mexico like the regular Jetta and Beetle.
Thanks
Steve
