The light on the LCD clock/milage indicator/elapsed time indicator/et
al no longer works. Is there a seperate bulb for illumination or is
the light source integral to the desplay unit? Meaning big bucks.

If it’s the same as the digital clock on my Jetta (which I believe it
is) the bulb is the same as the other bulbs lighting the speedo/tach.
Dealer or VW parts store item, but only $1-2 each. Hardest part is
getting instrument cluster out – recommend removing steering wheel (mark
position first) – having wheel off makes it much easier. Not difficult,
just time consuming.
