It sounds like a loose ground in the electric system. If you have the
schematics, check all grounding points.

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
Josh wrote:
> So, the other night we drove the Cabrio out to get some takeout, and since
> it's winter here we don't drive it much, mostly the truck in the inclement
> weather. So, anyway, I drive to a couple errands and it's running great, new
> TT Tuning exhaust, sounds great. We pull into the spot to get the food and I
> shut it down and for a split second the idiot lights come on, then go off as
> I pull out the key. I think nothing of it as I go in, but as I'm in line I
> start thinking that it was unusual for them to go on when shutting the car
> down.

> So, back in the car, I start it up and the idiot lights are flashing now, a
> few of them, I can't recall which, and the speedo and tach needles are
> bouncing along with the flashing. Idle is rock solid, car is running smooth,
> drives fine. As I drive down the road the flashing & jumping continue and
> I'm getting nervous, according to my wife (the primary Cabrio driver) that's
> never happened before. You'd have to be blind not to notice. Anyway, we
> drive the 10 minutes home and about half way home it gets better, actually
> showing the correct speed & RPM, then bouncing, then back to normal. It was
> fine when we pulled in the driveway and I couldn't get it to replicate the
> problem. After two days it hasn't happened again.

> My concern is leaving my wife stranded somewhere or causing more problems by
> letting it go. Any idea what it was/is? How to fix it?

> Thanks in advance.

> Josh
