Hi,
My car has occasional starting problems. It has happenned 2-3
times in last few day – when I try to start it, the engine won’t even
turn. It just feels as though the battery is dead. It eventually
starts after turning the keys about 5-6 times. It has happenned with
cold engine as well as with hot engine. Does anyone has had this
problem? The car is a ’85 scirocco. Can someone suggest what could
the problem be? Please respond to sanj…@sybase.com.
thanks,
sanjay

Sounds like you’re a victim of the infamous A1 Chassis bad ground.
Replace or supplement your battery grounding strap with one that attaches
directly to the engine block. The original ground attaches to the
transmission mount and does a poor job at best.
