I have a 1991 VW Corrado G60 and something odd happened last weekend.
Saturday, for no apparent reason, the car battery died. I went ahead,
got a
jump start and drove around for awhile until the battery was charged.
The
battery seems to be working fine now, however the MFA computer seems to
be brain
dead now. It won’t do anything. The display reads 1:18 and I can’t
switch to any
modes or get the 1:18 to even change.
Any suggestions would be appreciated…
Thanks,
Kevin

If I were you, I’d check out the Corrado Club of America. There is a
lot of information thewre and also, Jan’s VW page has info on it too.
The addresses are:
http://www.thepoint.net/~bwhite/corrado.html
http://alicudi.usc.edu/~jan/cars.html
Also, join the Corrado-L list. It is a group of us Corrado owners that
talk about our cars. Directions on how to jpoin are on the CCA page.
I’ve never had that problem happen to me (’90 G60), even when I replaced
the battery and had to disconnect all power to the car. Maybe someone
of the list can help you.

For what its worth…
I was just at the local VW dealer here (Holberts) and they have a white
92 8V GTI for sale. 65K miles and they are asking $10,500. The car is in
nice (but not perfect shape). I was alittle shocked at the price, but
based on that, it doesn’t seem that $7500 is unreasonable. Certainly
$5500 is on the low side.
