care to advise on the types, quality and performance
of these gizmos

Quick shift kit

My personal favorite quick shift kid, is male, aound 13yr old. The’re the
most ajile with their hands (playing nintendo helps increase dexterity)
Generally, the more sugar you feed him, the faster he will shift. Shortness
is a plus, it helps then to crouch down in the passenger compartment, allowing
plenty of room for your friends to ride.

If the child’s name is gizmo, beware, don’t get him wet, and DON’T feed him
after midnight!!

if your looking for a short shift kit…go with neuspeed if you have the $$,
ABD if you just want one that works.

I bought my Neuspeed short shift kit from Plain Wrap for $61.95.
Works great. I would say one of the best satisfaction-for-the-buck
upgrades there is.

Is this the same shift kit as for the VR6 GTI? My friend paid
around $350 for his.

Nope. All VR6 VWs use have a trans(02A?) with cable actuated shifters.
The only company I’ve seen with a short shift kit for it is Neuspeed.
It costs alot more than the linkage type shifters found on the 4 cylinder
models.
