The stock 0-60 time is 8.5 seconds. I don’t know what kind of
gains the exhaust you have gives, but I wouldn’t imagine it would give
anymore than a tenth or two of a second drop. I’d say the gains seen
from the exhasut might re-claim the hp lost by the miles that the car has
been driven, so I’d say 8.5 seconds would be about it.

Around 7.8 seconds.

power module and a Techtonics exhaust. I took the time myself one night
with a stop watch so it obviously isn’t totally accurate. A VW book I
have (Volkswagen Chronicle and it’s a very good VW history book) has a
time taken by Motor Trend of 8.0 seconds on a stock Scirocco. If I
didn’t have to hold the watch and if I had paid more attention to driving
I’m sure I could have done 7.5 especially with my new wheels and tires.

So far everywhere I checked the figures read 0-60 in 8.0 or 8.1
seconds. It’s not that much of a difference but it’s closer to touching
7.

I tried this one night on a dark street right in front of the local H/S at
3:am. My Girlfriend was with me so I had her do the timing for me and I
gave her specific instructions to count down from 5 to 1 and I would go.
She counts down I dump the clutch and got so much wheel spin I was
fighting to just try and get it to get me going. Once it did and I grabbed
2nd geat she stopped the clock at 8.2 seconds. I know my Scirocco can do
better than that since I just put in a 1.8L replacing my 1.7L which did
0-60 in 8.5.
I decided to tryry the run and try and not spin the tires so much. We
started at the stop sign. I saw headlights comming from my left so I
said," lets do this before the traffic gets here". She counted down, I got
a good start with a minimum of wheel spin and before I could even clear
the intersection she looks at the car’s that were comming and she yells,"
COPS!"
They both pulled me over (2 cars!) and inquired as to why I was making so
much noise ect… Gave them some Bs story about having clutch work done
and how I cant get going sometimes without making those darn wheels make
that awful sound……..
Well, it worked, they let me go.
The moral of the story kids: "I dont know what my modified 82′ Scirocco
will do 0-60 in!"

To do 0-60 runs, you can either use a flat freeway onramp when there
. I’ll get my chance though.
is no one on it, or go somewhere outside of town (or at least less
populated). I have done 0-60 runs, 1/4 mile runs, and drag races with
a friend on the back roads that I live on. The only time I got a
ticket out there was when I was going home at 12:30 A.M. and going 80
MPH in a 35 zone. The only reason this happened is that I took off a
little quick from the freeway, so the sheriff followed me. The moral
of THIS story is: drive the speed limit until you get to your "test
site."
BTW my Golf did 0-60 in the 8′s and 1/4 mile in the 13′s (my first
car did 0-60 in the 13′s). I didn’t have a timer to test it with the
new exhaust, then I got hit

Did you mistype that? 0-60 in the 8′s I believe but 1/4 mile in 13′s? Especially
if the same car did 0-60 in the 8′s….
You’re right. I wasn’t thinking clearly that night. 16′s or 18′s I
think. When I fix it, I’ll let you know for sure.
