Usenet Grumblers Group (UGG) may or may not consist of a
loosely-knit band of VW owners who felt just a bit more
sarcastic than usual today. They are not affiliated in
any way with Silicon Systems or TDK. So there!

- C.A.G.’s members are presently conducting a survey
which could lead to possible refunds to consumers
through Ontario’s new Class Proceedings
("class-action") Act,
which came into play on Jan 1 ’93 in Ontario.
- For information regarding other Consumer Action Group
activities, please consult the
Toronto Star, the "Frugal Bugle" (Oshawa),

ABOUT CAG: Here’s what former MP Phil Edmonston’s
"Lemon-Aid" ’96 New Car Guide
says about the group …
"The Consumers Action Group is an Ontario-based, non-profit
association of consumer advocates that does more than
just complain. It’s loosely-knit structure allows the
group to effectively assist consumers in using the
Small Claims Courts and class actions to obtain redress.
Volunteers include lawyers, paralegals, and other
professionals who use research, media publicity,
lawsuits, and out-of-court settlements to get
consumers compensation from automakers, manufacturers,
dealers, and retailers whenever a product or service
violates provincial laws or is deemed to involve fraud
or negligence. CAG members host quarterly forums on
exposing scams and other nefarious activities carried
out by what one CAG member calls "white-collar thugs."
In the past, the group has successfully taken on
airlines, the medical profession, and a host of
other businesses. CAG receives no funding and at this
time, there is no membership fee, but members
are expected to help other to help others in
cooperative efforts.
Anyone who wants specific information on class actions
(only Quebec, Ontario, and B.C. allow this recourse)
should send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
Carole Barrons, CAG (Class Actions)."

Not to mention the fact that almost any *brand new* car is better than
most 13-year old any-car. Let’s see how those Frauds (er… Fords) are
doing in just *10* years…

[E\.....F] Uh oh…
And what type of advertising technique is this, anyway?
I know I personally always look for "pieces of crap" when car shopping.

Neither will I. At least not yours.
You might want to try a different sales pitch.

1983 Rabbit that needs a cylinder head job? Pretty damn good if you ask
me. Those engines usually require a head job around 80-100K.
As for needing a transaxle, not "rear end" as he stated, on a 1983
Westfalia, hmmmmmm? Sounds like it might have been thrashed over the
years. Too bad about the change to "ford". You can already see what it’s
done to his general attitude and demeanor and they’re NEW! Just wait a
couple of years. He ought to be a real jewel by then.
(My 1985 Golf has been one of my best buddies. She outlasted a wife and
two girlfriends but I’ve finally got to part with her, too. I can’t
afford to continue putting money into her to keep her going. It adds up
to too much over the years but I still swear by her. Best damn car I ever
owned!! So there!)

Bahaha! Selling German built machinery, for domestics?
I dont know how anyone could drive a car built by guys
named "Billy-Jo Bob" and "Hank".
Be smart and sell the Ford shit.
Ah, maybe keep it. German autos are deserving of people
who understand Fahrvergnugen, and not Cupholders.
