After a heavy rain, the driver seatbelt when pulled from the
retractor is found wet. This is on a 87 Golf with sunroof.

Anyone have any ideas/solution?

Thanks,
Steve
I've had the identical problem with my 85 Golf. I've narrowed the source
of the water to either a poor roof gutter seal or leakage around the
rubber body trim strip. I'm more inclined to think it's the latter.
When my car was under warranty I had problems with leakage on to the
driver's side floor. The dealer resealed the rubber trim piece on the
outside of the door. That cured it.

Michael Jansson (jans...@freenet.edmonton.ab.ca)
