I’ve got a 1993 Corrado SLC w/ 44k miles. At about 35k mi the car
started making this wierd shrieking noise when I start to move forward
from a stop in 1st gear. When I let out the clutch it’ll shriek for
about
1-1.5 sec and then stop. The car moves forward fine and the clutch
does not slip, it just makes that wigged out annoying noise. Any
ideas?
thanks much.

Michael,
I have the same problem too and I currently have 52,000 miles. If
anyone knows what this problem is, Michael and I would really like to
know. TIA.

I am having a similar problem with my ’86 Cabriolet. It does it
in 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd, if I let out the clutch at
too low an RPM. I don’t know if it’s the same sound you’re hearing
but it seems to be similar symptoms. I get around it by making
sure I shift at higher RPMs. I don’t know if it’s something wrong
with the clutch/tranny/Fuel system(grasping at straws here) or
whether it’s just another way of my car telling me to rev her
higher.

get into 2nd…put in the clutch..shift into third..floor it and let out
the clutch real fast..does the car bite and lurch foreward, or do you
hear the screetch and the car just slowly heaves foreward or doesnt surge
at all? If so you need a new clutch..its starting to slip.

Has anyone tried to have the slave cylinder looked at?? Mine used
to make noise to but I thought it was the clutch cable….then I was
told my car doesn’t have one and that it was the slave cylinder.
Just a thought………

Is it as you’re releasing the clutch pedal, or after it’s all the way out?
If it’s as the pedal is moving, it could be the throwout bearing…..
